Wow!!!!!! What a Season of Fishing that We Have Had on the 65' "Reliable II". It has been So Much Fun, Thanks To All of You. As ALL of you well know, the Annual Mega Cash Pot is at a Whopping $649.00 and Somebody will Definitely WIN all of that BIG, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS Cash Money on Saturday, October 31st for the heaviest Flounder caught this whole 2009 Fishing Season. Pictured is Faye Griffith from Seaford, De., who holds the lead with her 5.5 pound Flounder Doormat. All you have to do is catch a heavier Flounder then a 5.5 pounder to win the Big Mega Cash Bucks. We plan on doing a SPECIAL Open Morning Headboat Trip for that day, Saturday, October 31st, weather permitting and we are going all out to do some Tog and Flounder fishing. (You can even dress up in your favorite Halloween costume.) We are also going to celebrate Capt. Dan's Birthday that day. The "Reliable II" will leave the Dock promptly at 7:00 a.m., and return when we feel like it. Mark this very Exciting Day on your Calender and Come Early to Secure Your Spot on the Rail. You may just GET LUCKY and win the Big Mega Cash Bucks.
(Please Note: If the weather is bad that day Saturday, October 31st and the "Reliable II" does not leave the dock, THERE WILL BE NO make-up day and the person who is in the lead will be Declared the official winner of the Annual Mega Cash Pot.)
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25th UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!
What a pleasant Surprise to see so many Anglers on the Dock this morning. I had gotten 1/2 bushel of live Green Crabs and was hoping that was going to be enough bait for all. Capt. Dan also picked up some live Sand Fleas and we also had Clams and Squid to satisfy the pallet of any Tog. The weather conditions were 10-20 NW winds but it did not seem too bad not to go. About 8 to 9 Tog were caught all together and I was told it was hard holding bottom with even 12 ozs. of lead. Also, alittle rough and the tides were moving fast. Anchored up, it was hard for the "Reliable II" to stay on structure for very long with the fast moving tide.
Allan Bischoff and wife Betsy from Ephrata, Pa., brought back their young grandson Eric who caught not only the first Tog but the biggest Tog of the day. A little heartbreaker here, Eric was not in the onboard Fish Pool. The next largest Tog was caught by Bill Phillips from Milton, De., who is a first timer on the "Reliable II". I just had that feeling this morning, that Bill was going to win the Fish Pool so Congratulations to Bill for catching a nice size Tog and winning the Money. Also, Congratulations to little Eric for catching a really nice size Tog. Other Tog were caught, but not as many as we would liked to have come over the rail. Please visit our 2009 Photo Gallery and view Allan's, Eric's, Capt Dan's and Bill's picture of their Tog catch from today. Ben and Teresa Bolton were onboard today and Teresa said that someone on the stern hooked into that "Mystery" fish that she had on the line two weeks ago and lost. Well guess what, it stayed on the line for about 5 minutes and took off and kept right on going and then it was gone. Maybe, one day, we will find out what it really is. Capt. Dan said that they were in the exact same spot as the last time when Teresa hooked up with it.
The Annual Mega Cash Pot is now at $649.00 as of today and don't forget, it ends Saturday, October 31st. Weather permitting, we will be doing a Halloween open morning Headboat that day.
