Friday, September 25th

Can you Believe it, the Weather has been Beautiful all week and the Delaware Bay like a Mill Pond. Today, light rain and NE winds were just a blowing. Several people showed up this morning for Headboat and off we went. Ed Lesniczak and his Polish Posse came down from Wilmington to try and catch Mr. Bigggggggg.........Flounder or one that is heavier then the 5.5 pounds that is in the Lead for the Annual Mega Cash Pot which is worth $529.00 to Date (9-26-09). Also, Ben "Flounderstein" Bolton and his wife Teresa came down to try their luck for the Big One. Even "Taxi Cab" Bill from Elkton, Md., showed up and said he needed more Flounder for his freezer. Try as everyone could, several Flounder shorts were caught with no keepers. Croakers seemed to be the catch of the day along with a big skate hooked up by Teresa which gave everyone a thrill for about 15 mins. Bill had to settle for croakers which everyone gave him theirs so he went home with a good mess.

This is Race Weekend at Dover Downs in Dover, De., and we will be Fishing again this Weekend and WE SURE DO LOVE THOSE RACE FANS!!!!!!!! Several Race Fans have come down and visited us on the Dock in the past few days and Very Special Thanks to Allan Towery and Son A.J., from Atlantic, Georgia. We were talking and I happened to mention that I needed to replace the American Flag on the "Reliable II" and guess what?????? and without Hesitation, Allan went to his Truck and gave me a Brand New 3' x 5' American Flag still in the Bag. WoW!!!!! RACE FANS ARE SO NICE!!!!!!!! As soon as the "Reliable II" came back to Port Today, we outfitted her with her New Flag which she is proudly Flying. Also, Allan Towery and son A.J. are here at Dover Downs with a Mobile Sports Bar called "Port A Party" which is a self contained mobile sports bar and hospitality suite that has everything you need to host a great entertainment experience. If you happen to be at the Races this weekend, stop in and say hello to Allan and A.J. and tell them that you heard it here. Their web site is www.portaparty.us sounds like a Great Time. I think we need a "Port A Party" right here at the Dock.

Saturday, September 26th

Woke up this morning and those Non-Stop Relentless NE Winds were still a blowing and I was sure that No One in their right mind would show up for Headboat, BOY, WAS I WRONG!!!!!! We had some regular Die-Hards along with Ben Bolton and they definitely wanted to go fishing. So off we went again, two days in a row of NE winds. It was rough, but nothing that the "Reliable II" couldn't handle. Flounder shorts were caught along with a nice keeper Flounder caught by Ken Oakley from Swedesboro, N.J. Ken also won the onboard Fish Pool and he was fishing right along side Ben "Flounderstein" Bolton. Ben was teasing Ken and said he picked his pocket on that one. Several croakers were caught along with some sand sharks.

TUESDAY, September 29th is getting closer and the excitement is mounting. The TOG CLOSURE will be over and we are going TOGGING if the weather will cooperate. The water temp. is still alittle warm and hopefully we will get lucky in catching some Tog.

Also, don't forget the Monthly and Annual Mega Cash Pots. It is still possible to catch Flounder when Togging. To Date, the Annual Cash Pot is worth a whopping $529.00 and the Flounder to beat is 5.5 pounds caught by Faye Griffith from Seaford, De. The Monthly September Mega Cash Pot is worth $65.00 and the Flounder to beat is a 4.42 pound Flounder caught by Ben Bolton from Newark, De. September's Monthly Mega Cash Pot will end September 30th and the Annual Mega Cash Pot will end October 31st. Both pots will continue to grow. There will be an October Monthly Mega Cash Pot which will end October 31st with lots of great Door Prizes.
